My name is Lyric Shockley and I am a Debutante in the 2024/2025 Cotillion presented by Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc., Cincinnati Alumnae Chapter, an extraordinary opportunity that will empower me to reach new heights. The Cotillion Ball will be held on April 13th, 2025, a night that promises to be an unforgettable celebration of excellence.

If you are not familiar with me, I am a junior at Winton Woods High School this year, but I am currently attending Miami University for dual credit to obtain my associate's degree when I graduate next year, a testament to my unwavering dedication to academic success. At Miami University, I am currently majoring in Pre-Med, a field that ignites my passion for making a positive impact in the world. After I graduate, I plan on attending Howard University or Florida A&M University to further my education and pursue a career as a Radiologist in the near future, a dream that I am committed to turning into a reality. Outside of school, I enjoy crocheting, designing clothing ideas, and playing volleyball, activities that bring me joy and help me grow as a person. I have been playing volleyball for six years now at Winton Woods High School and plan on playing for my senior year, a journey that has taught me the value of perseverance and teamwork. Additionally, at my school, I have started a fashion club to help individuals express their fashion capabilities around campus, a platform that fosters creativity and self-expression.

My selection as a Debutante was based on academic excellence and community involvement, a recognition that inspires me to continue striving for greatness. I am honored to participate in the 2024/2025 Cotillion, an experience that will assist me in developing and enhancing my personal, educational, cultural, and social life. As a Debutante, I will be participating in public service projects and educational workshops, opportunities that will enable me to make a meaningful difference in my community. I will also have an opportunity to compete in the “Miss Debutante 2024/2025” contest, which provides scholarships that would help further my education beyond high school, a chance to take my academic pursuits to the next level.

The scholarship awards are funded through the proceeds generated from the souvenir ad journal, a publication that showcases our achievements and participation in the cotillion. I would like your assistance to raise funds that would qualify me for the title of “Miss Debutante 2024/2025,” a goal that I am eager to achieve with your support. Your contribution will be identified in our souvenir ad journal, which highlights our achievements and participation in the cotillion, a lasting tribute to your generosity.
